HAVING RECENTLY PURCHASED A 1977 30 FOOT HUNTER WE CAME UPON SEVERAL BLUE CANVASS AWNINGS OF SOME SORT THAT LOOK LIKE SHADE COVERS BUT WE CANNOT FIGURE THEM OUT. THEY ARE ABOUT SIX FEET BY TEN FEET WITH VARIOUS ZIPPERS OBVIOUSLY DESIGNED TO MAKE SNUG FITTINGS BUT FOR THE LIFE OF ME I JUST CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHERE THEY GO OR EVEN IF THEY GO. WHERE DO I TURN FOR HELP AND WHAT DO I DO WITH THESE BEAUTIES?

Tents over Boom and foredeck

A quick guess is that they are tents to provide shade over your deck using the boom to support it, and the other to provide shade and rain protection over the foredeck hatch.

Bimini? (And please stop SHOUTING!)

You didn't say if you have a Bimini? (A cover for the cockpit that often comes with roof, sides, etc.) Look in West Marine etc. for pictures of biminis, and other canvas options. AND PLEASE STOP SHOUTING! IT IS VERY ... Well just turn off the caps lock...
