My swing keel fell off... anyone have ideas or sites that sell replacements? used or new... I need one bad!

does anyone have the size etc for it prior to my haul out? it is a 1982 25 ft Oday.

I may want to make one.

I would check under the keel of your boat to see what, if anything else you're going to need besides the centerboard. There's two stainless steel plates with four bolts and two wood screws, two fiberglass wedges, and the fiber pivot pin to account for that makes this board work, not to mention the Pendant line with the shackle. Rudy has all this stuff.

It seems very odd that the two connections to the centerboard (stainless plates/fiberglass wedges, fiber fiber pivot pin and the aft Pendant line with the shackle) would fail simultaneously. Both centerboard connections would need to fail for the centerboard to completely detach from the keel. Was there a collision? Check and see what is there--- maybe just the pendant line disengaged (was cut, worn through) from the shackle??

First, as others have already mentions, your boat does not have a "swing-keel", she has a centerboard housed inside the keel. O'Day never built a swing keel boat and made a lot of claims about how much better their Keel/Centerboard designs were than swing-keel boats (of course they did have to admit that the K/CB designs were more expensive to build!). This is not meant as critisism of your terminology, but more as a quick lesson to O'DAY K/CB owners in general. (read attached scan from a 1979 O'Day brochure).

Anyway, back to your question..... below I've posted a sketch of the O'DAY 25/26 centerboard in case you need to make a new one. I too have my doubts that the whole cb has disappeared, it may be hanging by a thread..... but....
