My Refrigerator stopped over the weekend

25 year old Waeco was fine on Saturday, on Monday my Lemonade was warm and it wasn't running. Little used by original owner I've had it running non-stop for 15 years. Spent today trying to troubleshoot, when first powered one quick blink of the led then nothing. Fuses check good, 12.5/13 volts at the control module, jumping the thermostat does nothing, looks like the obsolete control module.
Shopping for new evaporator and cu100 looks like $2200, on internet is a place in Kansas with less than $100 for any piece, WTH? Anyone ever heard of "Boat Cabin and Galley Deals". They have an address posted but no phone or I'd call them. Can't be real can it ?

No experience, Prices seem too good to be true. Might be worth the gamble. Let us know if you take the plunge

Look up the address in a mapping program. Does the address even exist?

Very low prices, no phone, questionable address, hallmarks of a scam site.

I recently replace my refrigerator with a SeaFrost. Call them, you will work directly with the owner. Pretty easy to install. Get the upgrade controller. Refrigerator seem to run around the $2000.

Before buying a new evaporator and compressor, and tearing things apart to install them, are you sure you can't find a new controller if that is the only thing wrong? And are you sure the controller is bad?

One blink is usually low voltage, if that is the diagnostic LED that is blinking. While you checked the voltage, did you try connecting it directly to a good battery right next to it? There still could be a bad connection that shows good voltage, but that voltage plummets when the compressor tries to start. Most volt meters can't catch transients like this.

What model of compressor? BD2/3? If so, control modules are available for this still in the aftermarket.

Afraid you’re going to have to “trust your gut” on this. Recently happened to me with a baldor alternator & controller. The charge was accepted & then immediately refunded. I thought it was a card hacking scam, but no unauthorized charges yet!:huh:

I read Stu's posts from 2016 and the part is shown as "out of stock" at rparts, I'll call them later. It does still come up at Fisheries for twice the price.
I'm not 100% sure it's the controller, I should try to jump the compressor. I don't believe the led is a fault code because I only get it when power is turned on. Just flashes for the moment and doesn't repeat every 4 seconds as indicated in the book. It just does nothing, no fault codes, no noise, no clicks just nothing. Positive voltage is ok, checked it at the controller.
The compressor was made in 2000 and uses R134a I'll have to take a closer look at the compressor model. I'm not sure it uses 4 pin connector or the 3 pin so may look at that too.
And there's too many red flags for me to send that place a credit card number, just found it unusual, kinda like a domestic Temu scam.

Ted, how can you tell if it's out of stock if you don't know which part it is? Or perhaps both are... Calling is a good idea, I found them very helpful, so much so that I still remember. I needed it 'cuz we'd just loaded the fridge for our trip from SF to here in BC! Getting ice would have been an extreme burden...
