"My" Oday 322 sold without me!

I thought I found the perfect first boat....a 1988 O'Day 322 on Lake Michaigan. I inspected her once, thought she was a good candidate, but was 'formulating an offer'....

Called the broker to set up a 2nd look at the boat and was going to make an offer...

But the broker informed me that he had an offer and that the seller accepted it :cry:.

Well, back to the drawing board. Looking at some Catalina 30's in the next few weeks.

If any O'Day 322 owners are looking to sell, let me know !

You've heard the expression you snooze you loose....It just wasn't meant to be so the next boat you'll be ready....when I was looking for a boat it was Catalina W's and I just couldn't find a winged keel model and then my 32 showed up with another buyer at the same time and there was so much bird poop on the boat that the other guy didn't get off the launch to look but the boat was immaculate on the inside and the bird poop got washed off after I bought it
BTW Catalina 34's are pretty nice too

Yeah...It was more like it took too long to get the Admiral on board.
But the buyer of "my" boat has to get financing....maybe I will call his bank and make it hard for him...
Well, that would not be very nice....guess I will just keep looking.

Hey that might be a good thing!! I'd call the broker and tell him that you have cash (cash is king) and this deal will be done quick, thats how I bought my house 10 yrs ago and avoided a bidding war

RAD, Doesn't someone on the Facebook O'Day list have a 32 CC for sale? Around NYC, I thought. I'll check and get back ASAP.

Yes, he does. It is a 32 CC Ketch(!) sort of under restoration in Queens, NYC. Engine is out, interior is gutted, but if you're in Chicago, maybe not the best bet. Good luck, anyhow.

She sounds like a dream. I ended up with something a little newer and a little smaller, but a good starter boat for me. If I get up to Holland, I will look you up.

As far as the bank, just my disappoint showing through. I thought for sure that was the boat for me the minute I laid eyes her, and then to find out she had sold, for the same price I had decided to offer, a week earlier was so disappointing....

But things have a funy way of working out. And my new "Obsession" is a blast to sail and small enough for me to take out by myself, and large enough to take a group of 6 guys out for some intense sailing on Wednesday nights.

There was a 1987 322 with trailer in Denver for sale last year.....$34,000 with trailer.
If you are interested and cannot find it , let me know..

I think if I was ever going to replace my 222 it would be with the 322.

Know the feeling. I had several O'Day 32s bought out from under me quite some years ago. Consider moving up to a 37 CC. I have just the boat for you! Just happens to be for sale.
