I am so excited. I had to tell someone! I just ordered my new boat. Hunter had a 410 slated for the right coast but it had a deep keel. The dealer turned it down, and my broker (H & S Yachts) was asked if they had a buyer. They did (me) and we put the numbers together this morning. It'll be shipped on the 22nd of this month, and ready from commission by mid April. I am so excited, that I don't know what to do with myself. Needless to say, my pending retirement in May has just adopted a new meaning. If anyone is in the market for a boat, I wholeheartedly recommend this broker. Jim Chamberlain went above and beyond to make this happen for us.

Congrats!

Regardless of the old saw about the two best days in the life of a boat owner... this really _is_ a great day! Commissioning can be fun too. Keep en eye on the boat and hang out with the commissioning crew as much as they'll let you. Buy 'em coffee and donuts (burritos in SD) and take good care of them. You'll learn tons about your new boat. ph.

H&S Is Great

I purchased my 40.5 from them and the prior owner got his new 460 from them too, as did my neighbor's brother his Cat 40 and 47. Lots of repeat business. Anyhow, congrads on your purchase! We expect to see you this year at Catalina at the October Rallye. And before. Let us know what you name her so that we can dinghy by and lob compliments. Where are you going to keep her? Rick D.

Rick, Catalina in October sounds like a good idea. The dealer told me about last years event and inspite of the heavy weather going over, it was a lot of fun. The boat will be named "Jack's Place" after my Labrador Retriever. Jack will probably be traveling with us for short trips. For the first three to four months, the boat will go to Ensenada. Then, back to Newport at the Balboa Bay Club.

Congrats,!!!

What a great feeling. I remember the times I ordered both my Hunters, but especially the first one. Enjoy! Phil was right about the commissioning crew. your salesman is no longer your best friend, he's on the his next sale. The crew that puts the boat together in your family now. treat em good, especially the one guy who seems to know everything (he won't be the boss either!) I always got a good response to a 12 pack of their favorites on late friday afternoons! Enjoy the experience but remember it's not like buying a car, it's more like building a house. More choices, colors, issues, equipment, extras abound. Bob Knott H380

I too on the east coast and live aboard, bought a new 450 to retire on,had to put on a good heating system to enjoy it here in the N.E.I wanted the center cockpit and the 42 was good enough, but the extra tub and shower for 30,000 caught her eye,so for 3'more she payed the diferance. I really started out to mention that I also named mine after the dog I loved but had to give him away for a previous woman that I left, I sure miss the dog. "BUBBA" is his name, a spitten image of Spuds Mckenzie, black eye and all. would love to get rid of this one, give her the money back and get the dog.Good thing she dont know anything about the computer or there would be no tomorrow but only yesterday TOM

you picked a great boat!

Congrats on the purchase of your H410 - it's a terrific boat. I also got mine from H&S in Newport, had her commissioned in San Diego, and live aboard in King Harbor in Redondo Beach. I think you will be very happy with the service from H&S - they really care about their customers. But, make sure to write every agreement down and be prepared to do the followup - that's the way it is with boats. Have made extensive upgrades to mine (a 1999) - please feel free to email me if you'd like any info or have any questions (Twilightrb@msn.com). John Farnsworth also is a liveaboard on his 1998 H410 and has done some neat things with his boat - he was very generous answering my questions. And as Rick said, we'll see ya over at the island in September! /c s/v Twilight, H410
