Hey my name is Jeff, aka: LesserZ, and I know very little about boats. (Sorry but this might seem like a long read.) But, I'm slowly learning because I wish to sail the ocean one day. Not deep sea, but along the coast. The idea popped in my head one day I was at Myrtle Beach in SC. So I decided to get a sailboat and start in the lakes near me. So I bought one from a gentleman in NC and picked it up recently. I have two problems. First it has no title. The guy I bought it from, got it from a used car lot. When he tracked down the owner. He found that the man was deceased, and asked the widow if she could sign over the title. She didn't want nothing to do with it, because the man named it after another woman "maggie D". The man I bought it from said I could trick the lady into signing it over by saying that I'm a storage company and there is a hefty storage fee. I'm not a dishonest person and I don't see myself doing this. It goes against my morals. Any ideas from anyone on what to do? Now for the second item/s. The boom and sail was stolen last year from what the guy I bought it from said. I don't know what I'm truly looking for. Apparently I need a goose-neck as well. Been talking to some guys that make parts and one guy said it might be a sliding goose-neck. From the top of the mast it has two pulleys, then roughly half way it has the three metal wire stabilizers (assuming for the mast support), then two spreaders (whatever those are, will look it up), and then the flat metal connection for the mast. Along the mast is a slit running down one side. But near the mast's connection piece to the boat is a small gap. Not sure on what this is for. There are no other people around me, that I know of, that know anything about sailboats. Some people said come on here and post for some help. Any ideas on what type of goose-neck is needed to get a mast made? I'll attach some photos to help understand this issue.
