We just bought a Hunter 32 foot year 2000 and it smells. can anyone tell me if i need to replace tanks. we dont want a quick fix we want it gone for good. we tried bleach and some other additives. Any advice would be awesome! P.S. how hard is it just to replace holding and fresh water tanks.:)

probably not the tanks.. more likely the hoses for the head and holding tank have become permeated and are stinkin' up da place. Search this site for "permeated hoses" and you'll find some posts by Peggy, The Headmistress, concerning how to test for permeation.. The other thing that happens is bilge water can get caught in the reinforcement grid under the floor. This water may have icebox drippings in it and can get pretty ripe smelling.. Peggy has advice on that too.. It requires flushing and cleaning out the bilge .. Good luck in the hunt..
EDIT: This is Peggy's excellent book, available on this site:

We had a smell on our 33 when we baought it a few years ago. Did the test on the hoses as discribed by Peggy. Ended up replacing a hose form the holding tank to the macerator and the smell was gone.

You may also want to check the anode in the hot water heater. That smell is extremely foul.
