Francois, Here is a photo of my genoa rail... or I should say rails. My rail is not continuous like yours appears to be. I have a block on the front rail and a block on the back rail. I would not cut your rail wothout installing a proper rail end fitting or you might cause the end of the rail to bend upward as the block pulls on it.

Well...that explains it!

Hi Olivier, Thanks for the pics! Humm, duhh....my boat doesn't look like that. I have a single, 8ft long track. The drain is supposed to be under the perpendicular darker color strips (compared to the track) that we can see on your picture. Anyway, it's too late now. I have cut the track on both sides of the boat. The cut width is about 3mm and is positionned in the middle of two screw points. The car will probably never go there so I should be fine. I am glad that I did it because the boat is now dry which is what I wanted in the first place!!! Thanks! Francois Starshine III
