Unlike my Garmin GPS 12 which had the wrong date but correct time, my Garmin GPS 72 had the correct date but wrong time. So the GPS 72 manage to survive the rollover. But obviously not unscathed.
Went to Garmin's website and wow, they had an upgrade version for the GPS 72. Did the upgrade yesterday using my trusty Windows XP machine and now both my GPS' are working just fine.
The GPS 12 is connected to the autopilot and is located at the wheel. The GPS 72 is connected to the radio for DSC purposes. The reason I chose those two was the fact they had external ports for NMEA data and external power. The GPS 72 is in the boat but receives GPS signals at the same level as the GPS 12 which is outside.
Fun, fun, fun.
