A friend of mine emailed me and another sailing friend this story.

"You two are the only ones with sailboats that I know so I think I can safely tell of what I did almost 29 years ago on my honeymoon.
(No not that part - I have two kids so it's obvious).
As a poor grad student, I was only able to afford three days on Martha's Vineyard.
We arranged for a sailing lesson in the harbor. The college kid would show us a move and then turn around and tell whose house or yacht was whose, etc.
It ended up being a neat tour of the area from the vantage point of the bay.
Well, he showed me a move and said to aim at a particular boat that was moored and proceeded to turn around and show my wife some of the other homes along the bay.
I mentioned that I was getting closer to the boat, but he said it was Ok. I mentioned that I was REALLY getting close and as he asked me how close, I hit the boat and knocked a piece of the coating off the boat.
He casually mentioned that I just hit Walter Cronkite's boat and proceeded with the rest of the lesson.
Well, that's the story and, no, it was not the most exciting thing that happened on the honeymoon!"
