My B&G Zeus2 MFD thinks it's yesterday

For some crazy reason my B&G MFD thinks it is yeasterday. For example, if I click on a tide or current icon on the screen it brings up the tide or current status for yesterday, and I have to click the date and move it forward manually.

Anyone else have this issue?

I've searched the menus and manuals and internet and haven't found out how to solve this problem.

Thanks,

jv

Interesting problem. I’m not at the boat so I don’t remember what the menus look like, but I’m pretty sure the time zones must be set manually; maybe yours got set wonky? The Zeus 3 shows the time at the very top of the screen; does the 2 also show that to tell if the system time itself is right?

Yes, it shows the date and time. The time is always correct, the date is always yesterday.

You know, I was thinking - maybe my Zeus2 MFD is getting GPS data from my Vesper XB-8000 AIS transponder, and maybe that unit is subject to the GPS date rollover issue.

See this:
GPS date rollover affects older GPS units

Garmin owns Vesper, and I have heard that Garmin customer service is pretty good. I will try to verify from where on the network my MFD is getting GPS data, and if it's the Vesper unit, contact Garmin.

Update:
Whoops, I just realized the B&G Zeus2 9" MFD has an integral GPS, so I should probably contact B&G, and meanwhile, maybe try to switch GPS sources to the Vesper.

Update 2:
B&G says on their website that the Zeus2 units are not subject to the rollover issue. Hmmmm....

Once you finally get B&G on the phone, the tech service is excellent. You will need patience when reaching out to B&G. I have the external antennae ZG100 for GPS source.

Solved it! It was set up to use the GPS data from the Vesper XB-8000, which is putting out the wrong date. When I switched to using the B&G internal GPS data it's all good. I'll contact Garmin about the Vesper unit, but it's not so urgent anymore, unless it's messing up what I'm transmitting to other ships via AIS.
