My 1st 1979 O'day 22 needs repair

Charley sunk her, owner raised her,tyied to dock in Punta Gorda eversince. i got her free for moving her out of upscale neighborhood. i am an alround handy man. Need comments on work i need to do; boat is on trailer. 1.i scraped and pr washed barnacles but the white circles are still there, how do i remove? 2. bottom has many small bumps, is that paint or fiberglass blisters & how do i repair? 3. one top of transom cleat tore out a 2 x 6 hole in fiberglass on port side. 4. one port side stanchion bent,rebend ok?. 5. safety line end bracket wont go thru stanchion hole? 6. main sail tore, separated, entirely at boom, what thread & rope to use for repair? 7. i see a manual can be downloaded, is there a better source? 8. is there a good book on o'day genral repair? 9. center bd is gone broke off at swivel bracket, will it sail ok with just the keel? advice....

prioritze the boats needs. tackle them one by one. (it's amazing how gratifying it is just to clean the boat up) Try not to do everything at the same time. As you finish each thing on a checklist, mark it off. Although the 22 is a small boat, some of your repairs are pretty big. ( I went through a refit of my 1st O'Day 22 a few years ago)Rudy Nickerson at D&R Marine in Assonet Mass. is an invaluable source he has all the parts you will ever need for the 22. Also get on the O'Day owner's email list . Use all the resourses. Small blisters

When I bought my 192 it had been stored in the water behind a house boat for several years. There were a number (between 30 and 40) of dime-size blisters on the hull. In less than a year of storing the boat on a trailer instead of in the water (but still sailing it regularly) all those blisters have dried out and disappeared.I sailed the 192 for a day with the centerboard stuck in the up position (I forgot to pull it up before putting the boat on the trailer and the pendant line jammed the board in the slot)and the boat can be sailed upwind but makes so much leeway that the VMG is about 10 degrees further off the wind than I can do with the board down. With the board down the wake will be pretty much straight behind the boat. With the board up you can see the wake at an angle, so it definitely makes a difference.
