Last spring I soda blasted the hull of my 1987 h40, applied 7 gal of Interlux Interprotect 2000E barrier coat and two coats of Micron Extra ablative bottom paint. Paint is still in good shape and I am leaning toward another coat this spring. Has anyone applied Interlux Micron without sanding the old [paint? How has it held up? How did you prep the old coat?

Micron

I've been using micron csc on my H240 for 5 seasons. I put two coats on every other season. Before applying the new coat I power wash the bottom to remove any slime that may have built up. No need to sand that's the bueaty of albative paint.

Very little prep

The yard power wash it when it comes out in fall and I touch up a few worn spots before it go's back in in spring. My 2001 was painted blue when it was new and blue again two years later, than green which is on now and this way if I see blue I touch up those blue spots,no prep just brush on paint. this is the second season with just touhing up and not repainting. The blue was pettit trinidad 1275 and the green is interlux csc,the csc really holds up well. nick
