Hi when you buy a Hunter I assume you get a manufacturers statement of origin (MSO) as part of the pack. I assume this simply stated that 100% of the boat was made in the USA for export / customs purposes. Does any one have a copy of their MSO for a Hunter 310 1997 model that they could scan and send me a copy regards Mark

The MSO is like the birth certificate

of a boat. It describes the boat specs, specific hull #, its hull material and country of origin but it is also a certificate of commisioning of a boat and the first document of ownership issued by and on behalf of the manufacturer. This document together with a bill of sale is passed to the buyer or its agent to permit the registration and the transfer of ownership (title). Check with the manufacturer as I believe the keep a copy for their files. The SMO of another boat may do you no good as these documents reflect the individual hull numbers making the description specific to a single boat.

MSO - thanks for the response

Thanks for the quick response. Seems what I am looking for is something that says the boat is 100% made in the USA - any other documents that might do this or is this a para in the MSO regards Mark

Nothing is 100% percent made anywhere

these days. Country of origin is a part of the MSO. Once again suggest you contact the manufacturer for any certification about origin. Provide Hull ID # and state your necessity. http://www.huntermarine.com/ContactUS/ContactIndex.cfm
