My H 260 has a regular porta potti, I want to install a pumpout hose and vent line for use with an MSD type potti. I have such installation in my Macgregor (http://www.macgregorsailors.com/modt/index.php?view=1449). The question is, can I drill through the head ceiling to install a deck pumpout fitting and hose? Where would be an adequate place to do so?

Cheers, Albert

Permanent or temporary

This is my temporary solution. I suppose you could do this permanently if you don't mind looking at the pipes. We almost never open the port in the head anyway.

John, thanx for the response. This looks like a feasible and intersting solution that avoids having to drill through the hull. Thank you for sharing. Albert

The factory installed pump out port on my H260 is all the way aft on the port side, below the rail seat. This is just above the tank, located aft of the main berth on the port side. The vent is just forward of this on the hull.

Pumpout

If you need more pictures or a list of parts I used or dimensions on parts let me know. It was an interesting project that we used in Canada and then removed. I have the parts for next time we need it. Easy to put in, easy to take out.
