Has anyone ever moved the traveller from in front of the hatchway to over the coach roof? If you have can you tell me how did you do it. Was a new traveller installed or was the slide rail just moved. How was the attachement point on the boom determined. Did moving the traveller to the coach roof interfer with your dodger. Any help is appreciated. Joe Lynch New owner odf an O'Day 30

yes to moving the traveler

I also have a 30. I did'nt move mine but some where on this site i remember reading and seeing a picture of it. i do remember that they mentioned that it does interfere with dodger.I would think twice about moving it though. the boom may not be strong enough to handle mid boom sheeting and you might snap the boom in the boom in half. Remember also you are going to need at least double the purchase on the mainsheet and the orig was really bad to begin with, even with end boom sheeting. mine is now set up w/ a comb 4/1-12/1. its not fun trying to grunt in a 4to1 purchase. as to the system, harken makes a bridge system for just such installations. I have a 79 and i know my schafer boom would never take the increased load.
