Moving the A/C power inlet

I am considering replacing the original inlet with a new smart plug.
While I'm at it how big of a project would it be to move the plug-in from the port side rear up to near the bow?
It seems that the dock power box is always on the wrong side when bow into the slip. I'm not a fan of long draped electrical cords.
I have been backing in but now with the higher winds and the new prop it's a challenge.
Any ideas of a good place up forward to move it to?
My boat is an 84 C-30.

Move it to the other side but toward the bow isn't a good idea. It needs to stay dry and the bow is the weatest place. If you plug in while it is wet you risk shock and/or a short, not to mention it will rust out a lot faster. There is a reason you won't find AC power plugs up forward. To move it involves running an AC wire from your new location to the AC switch on the power pannel. The rest of the AC wires should not have to be touched, of course there is a new hole that will have to be sealed and the old one filled, sealed gelcoated etc. I think just securing a cable around a dock at the edge, over to near your plugin would be a lot less work. Just my opinion.

A battle not to fight

After more thought I guess I will leave this alone.
I thought about how hard it would be to reach the plug from the dock if it was farther forward.
I still will probably install the smart plug. I like the idea.
