Moving spinnaker halyard

I have a hunter 340 and want to add a bow sprit and top down Furler for a code 0 sail. Will I have to move the halyard higher on the mast for clearance. Any help would greatly appreciated.

The Sailboat Data image shows the spinnaker halyard a bit higher on the mast than the jib forestay.

On a fractional rig, you can attach the swivel spinnaker block for the halyard just slightly above the headstay and then lead that halyard up a short ways to a sheave on the mast face that sends it 180 degrees and down the inside to an exit near the housetop. This solves some potential chafe problems that masthead rigs can have.

I wonder about the mast being unsupported above the shrouds or the forestay.

My 2 cents................If you plan to purchase/install a bowsprit then check whether you have adequate halyard clearance from the forestay prior to moving the halyard higher up the mast. A photo of you forestay and spinnaker halyard would further help to answer your question. Good plan to install a top down furler, which is what I installed/used on my Hunter 386. Worked really well!!

I think @Bill19233 made a bowsprit for his 340, maybe he has some ideas on halyard placement.
