anybody had experience moving a boat with a professional moving company? What is the average cost for a 30 foot 7000 pound boat for about 1000 miles? Who did you use? Any website that you guys know of that ranks them? If all else fails I could just sail her, but that would take a while and I don't have all that much vacation. Also, anybody know of a good trailer maker for such a boat or Know of a trailer for sale for such a boat. Any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Ken Matejka

I had an H27 moved ...

From Charlotte, NC to Columbia, SC, a distance of about 100 miles. I used a local person. The cost was about $850. This is the only time I have done so as this was my first boat. As I understand it, the biggest cost for me was gettign it on the trailor from being on the hard. Since your boat is in the water this should be reduced. Most of the transporters I talk to were similar in price. Make sure they are insured. Where are you moving it to? Good luck.

Transport

A lot of companies are listed on the net. Do a search for marine transport. Some companies will give you an on line estimate. If the boat has to be water lauched from a ramp it becomes a problem and there are fewer choices. My 32' 10,500 lbs cost $2600 to move 500 miles. But I had to have a trailer that could do a water launch. Good Luck

Delivery Crew?

Ken: Have you considered a delivery crew. If you end up spending several thousand dollars for this move, you may be better off having a delivery crew do the job for you. You could also do part of the trip yourself and then have the delivery crew finish up the delivery. You are moving from Corpus to where ?????

You might check with boat manufacturers going or coming your way. We used to use the Hunter contracted trucks that delivered new boats north when we shipping south because they would be empty going back. Got a break on price.
