Try the Archives, 2 Biminis?

There are a descriptions of cabin mounted travelers in the archives. Usually they are mounted over the hatch. Because the best place for the traveler is at the end of the boom, we will implement two biminis as illustrated in the photo forum with a title like "2 Biminis on an H-25" David Lady Lillie 77 h27

Where is your traveller now?

My h27 has the traveller at the back of the cockpit, but I've seen others from the same year that are at the base of the companionway. If yours is by the companionway, perhaps you can move it to the back of the cockpit instead of to the top of the cabin? I don't have a bimini (yet) but it seems like a better place to put it. You won't get nearly the same purchase if you put the traveller and sheet mid-boom on top of the cabin.

Check "SAILING" magazine

I just received the latest copy of SAILING mag and towards the back in the manufacturers rep. section , a company says they have dodger templates for over 1,000 boats. Hope this helps.

"1000 templates".

The manufacturer that John mentions is probably "Island Nautical". It is the company that sells the biminis and dodgers right here on HOW. It is also the company that made the original on my 1979 H37C. The color is wrong and it needs some new thread on a few of the seams but is still very serviceable after twenty-two years.

Mainsheet Traveller on H27

David, I moved the mainsheet traveller on my 1980 H27 this past summer so that my new dodger would fit properly. I made custom welded steel traveller stands and through bolted them directly to the cabin top forward of the companionway hatch coaming. This exercise took considerable measuring and metalwork to do correctly so you should be handy. My boat is now tarped for the winter but if you are interested I will take some digital pictures next time I'm aboard and email them to you within the next few weeks.

moving main sheet traveler

I have a h37c and we put a split bimini on ours. The center section zips out during sailing and zips back in to connect the bimini to the dodger. It works well and we now have curtains to match.

Moving mainsheet from cockpit aft to coach roof

Fred, Was your traveller always on the coach roof? We've been considering moving ours (78 H27) to the coach roof from aft of the cockpit (I think origially it was single point on the cockpit sole). But not sure about the strength of the roof. And now that I see different styles of traveller (sheave and pulley vs hard track with cars.). Any way you can include myself on those pictures? Thanks, Bob s/v Second Nature
