I want to move the mainsheet on my '83 FK/TR to a single SS eyebolt which will be centered outside several inches below the companionway. I will use a 16" x 8" x 1/4" SS backing plate inside the boat --which the eyebolt will pass through-- for added strength. (I'm thinking about another smaller SS plate on the outside as well, but I don't know if this would be neccesary.) I'll then install an additional bail directly above this eyebolt on the boom.A quick release will allow me to move my mainsheet forward and back. When I sail (read cruise), I very seldom move the traveler.Am I overlooking any potential problems here?D
