I have a 1981 catalina TR. This boat came with the instrument panel and engine controls at the base of the wheel on the bottom of thelazerette just off the floor. Impossible to read and very cumbersome to use. Just finished moving instrument panel up to back of lazerette on seat wall. Now the next project..the controls. I have wheel steering on an older edson pedistal. My question is this... is there some type of part available that would fit on the top of the pedistal to rreceive the controls??? the plan is to remove the compass, insert this part(?), replace the compass on top of this part and run new cables to the engine. I am looking for this part(?) rather than having to design and build. Anyone been there done this?? thanks bob

If you have an Edson pedestal, have you tried Edson? I think it's www.edsonmarine.com Stu

moving instruments

I was wondering if you had any insights and pictures for your relocation of the instruments on your cat 30 tr? I have thought about it for the 7 years we have owned the boat! Did you buy a new panel or use the old?

panel movement

mike, i just completed the panel relocation this last sunday so as of yet no pictures. What i did was i instaled a new engine last year and it came with a new panel, so i just moved the new one. I now have a hole in my lazerette that needs patching. I will try to get some pictures up here next week. If you have any questions you can e-mail me. rjfs13@aol.com. And thanks to everyone for the info...edson has the tower part i need for controls......bob
