Catalina 38 St Augustine
Hello everyone, I recently bought a beautiful Catalina 38, located in St Augustine, Oasis Boat Yard & Marina. As this is far from me, and I want to spend more time with my new toy, I want to move it closer to my home, possibly to Reynolds Park Yacht Center on St Johns River.
What is the best path to do this, can I use Intracoastal Waterway with a 6.80 ft draft and 50ft mast height?
Is there any recommendation for the marina or slip rental near Shands Bridge?
Any suggestions of how to properly plan this trip, places to avoid, and what to pay attention to?

Thank you!

Welcome to SBO. We did the trip from Jax to St Aug last December with a 55' mast and 5' draft,. no issues.

You should have no problems getting from St Augustine to Jacksonville. With the exception of the Bridge of Lions in St. Aug your mast height is below the 65' standard on the ICW. On a new to you boat, use the ICW. It is actually shorter than going outside.

Get a copy of Aquamaps for your tablet or phone. It is a great charting program especially for the ICW as it has the latest soundings for the ICW. It also has bridge heights, tide stations and currents.
