Does anyone know of any companies that will decommission, move, and recommission a 37 foot saiboat from the Florida coast inland?Any ballpark on what that would cost?Have any of you moved a boat that size from the Coast to inland and how did it go? I am thinking of buying a 37.5 and moving it inland for 2 years but I have had trouble finding companies that do the commissioning as well as move it.

I Moved A Passage 42 This Winter

from western Kentucky to northern Ohio, almost exactly 500 miles. (American Boat Carriers, PO Box 1570, 13105 Rachael Blvd, Alachua, Fl 32615. Voice 386-462-1044 Fax 386-462-2440. Talk to Bev.) This company moves a large percentage of the new Hunters from the factory to the dealers. They do not do the tear down or rebuild of the boat. You will have to have that done by the marinas at both ends or do it yourself. The mast will have to be taken completely apart as well as removing anything on the boat that causes it to be more than 14 feet above the ground. It cost about $1000 for the marina in Ky to get it ready, about $2200 to move it, and I reassembled it in Ohio. Hope that helps.

Depends on where you are bound for.

You could look into moving the boat via the Tenn-Tom waterway. Need to drop the mast if you are over 53 Ft Bridge Height. Brought a 36 ft Morgan up, took about 12 days from Ft Myers to Ky Lake . Only motored during the day and tried to eat all the oysters we could at night. Great trip if you got the time and want to save some money. You can get to the Great Lakes or go up the Ohio from Ky Lake.

I don't know if this is "legal" on this site?, but have you contacted Rooke Sails in Memphis. He delivers Hunter sailboats to various "minimal" sites.
