FINALLY...we are getting movies on gelcoat, Island Girl etc done. Just click on http://homepage.mac.com/seebiskit/iMovieTheater4.html This has to be viewed in Quicktime, which you may have to download (free!) if you don't have it already. Be interested to see how well the movie can be seen on different computers, windows versions etc. Obviously it was prepared on a mac. The one shown is based upon one we did for display at the 2004 Sail Expo in Oakland CA. I would be glad of any comments and criticisms, particularly regarding clarity of description. We already have feedback (from us too!) that some of the lettering is too small for web-sized compressed movies. Although this looks fine on the DVD we made, we can fix this for the web, but only by redoing the central part (the original movie got lost during a computer problem and had to be replaced via the DVD recording. Several others are in the works, including:- 1. Details of technique on gelcoat (including animations of how the products work). 2. Vinyl care and restoration 3. Non-skid repair and maintenance 4. IG Pink (mainly footage from 1 1996 boat show, plus some new stuff. Eventually, we will be making DVDs available to selected yacht clubs, old established customers etc If sufficient demand we may also sell. Thanks Jim W

Jim Appreciate you doing this as I am just about ready to take the IG plung. I am on a Dell Inspiron 8200 with Windows XP running Internet Explorer 6.0. The video stops at the end of the 100 year statement and freezes as does the audio. I would prefer that the screen be bigger without the movie camera image. Jim, I have a similar set up as Dave, and had the same experience with freezing video (never got to audio). Also agree that bigger is better as far as the screen image is concerned. Look forward to what you are doing with the videos. Ed.

Freezing?
Only time I have seen this "freezing" is when two movies were being looked at. Looks like a buffering thing or bandwidth thing. WHen I looked at it it played right through on my mac but we have cable - probably would be slow with dial up. I am far from an expert in these things but have now got quicktime pro that will allow "streaming" (whatever that is) which means no download time. I got a whole gigabyte of server space on the .mac server and this movie (6.3gb in iMovie form) only takes up 25 mg. I have another program (final cut express) that means that you can adjust the degree of compression. I have tried this to get to fit to a CD (DVDs are expensive). ALso I would like to get the flow charts in a linked form like a mini web site. Still learning but I am an "old dog". Would like to hear from anybody who successfully saw the whole thing. It is long, but you can drag the pointer along to the part you want. Teach me! JimW

How to avoid "freexizing" (I think).
You will notice at the bottom of the little "screen" that a band slowly fills in showing the data downloaded. This band has to move faster than the play indicator (the little knob in the sam place that moves along as the movie progresses. If it does not and the catch up then the movie freezes. Obviously some parts of the movie have more digital data than others. If you have a slow connection (even cable can get busy and the the screen runs out of data, you can press the pause buttom until the band is all the way along or well along so that the button cannot catch up. Another thing is that on the right hand side (downward pointing arrow) you can set the download speed to go with what you have, cable/DSL, dial up, intranet etc. Hope this is of some help. I am also going to call apple and see how many people can view at once if this is a problem. Please mention what interneet connection you have. Of course a bigger picture would be nice but then it would be even slower. I will look into this though. JW
