Mounting harware on an ACP deck

I want ro add a track for the jib leads on my new Hunter 216. On a fibreglass cored deck I would drill a hole through the top ply, ream out the core material, epoxy fill it and drill a hole through the epoxy. Can someone tell me if this procedure is appropriate for the ACP deck of the Hunter 216? Also what calk can be used on this material as I know many calks will attack plastic?

Mounting Stuff on ACP Surface

Hi Fritz,Welcome to the H216 family. I *love* my 216. I have moved the some stuff around on my boat. I simply temporarily took a screw out of something similar, like the jib cleat, then went down to the local HW store and bought same to mount my new stuff. Use SikaFlex to bed/seal the new device just like Hunter does.I would be very curious on how you plan to mount a track and what hardware you will use. A pic when you complete would be fabulous. Some of us H216'ers have contemplated our navels while wondering how to do the same thing.

Sikaflex is the answer I was looking for and I even have some on hand, if it's still good. I'll report my progress on this project and any othe mods I come up with.
