mounting fluxgate compass

I am installing an auto pilot. I have a 1978 Hunter 30. What is the best location for the compass. thanks

On my L37...

...its mounted on the sidewall of the cockpit within reach of the helmsman.

On my L35.5

...it's mounted in the locker under the sink in the head. Away from, wiring, large iron mass(engine), and batteries.

starboard settee...

previous owner of my H29.5 mounted it on the aft locker wall inside the starboard settee. Would be satisfactory except a speaker is mounted within 2 ft within the same settee.Cheers!
