I have this Ritchie compass I purchased and now I'm faced with mounting it in the Bulkhead.

I'd like any comments about doing this. It looks formidable to me. I don't want to mess up my Bulkhead doing this. I figure the right side over the galley area is the better side. The information that came with the compass emphasizes getting it aligned with the keel. Your comments on this would be helpful. The instructions advise wiring to it's own switch/fuse. There no open switches in the panel. I thought of just wiring it to the deck lights. A comment here to please.

I'm sailing or will be sailing the Pacific coast of the Rep. of Panama. I feel I need this navigational item along with the GSP and digitized maps I have of the area. There are 17, 18, 19 ft tides, which change the land marks considerably.
