Im adding a wind instrument (Raymarine st-60) to my H285. I want to purchase a pod by Edson, and mount it on a 1" ss Bar (aprox 4" high, and 18" long) across the deck top just forward of the hatch. The bar must fit under a dodger that I have, so when I'm racing, the Dodger can fold down and I can still read the instruments! I have to have the bar custom made, and its a little expensive! I want the instruments forward, instead of on the pedistal, so that all crew members can read them. Edson also makes a "box" style pod, but that will be dificult to mount on the deck top, because its ribbed. My question is,am I going about this the right way? With the bar I can add additional instruments in additional single pods, as I want to, ie: depth, and knot! Any additional ideas would be welcome! Kevin
