I was wondering if anyone out there can offer any ideas or advice for mounting a anchor to the rail of a 26S or any boat for that matter. I have a windline PM-1 anchor mount that works nicely but i would like to see what others are doing? If you could provide ANY photos or ideas it would be a big help. The guy i bought my boat from always sailed solo so he kept his anchor and rode in a 5 gal bucket. I am not sure of the size of the anchor but it is one of the biggest Danforth anchors available that I have seen. I personally don't think I need an anchor that big, but I understand the bigger the better. I am looking for ideas about mounting and storing the anchor and rode. Thanks alot!

Is what Ramblin' Rod and Ondine have on Sea Quell. Neat and secure storage and rapid deployment of two anchors. Curently, we have a single danforth onone of those pulpit mounts with the rode going down a hawse pipe into a storage bucket below. Looks "nice and neat" but slow to deploy and slower yet to stow. (edit: actually, looking at his (rods) photo, I would have tried to rest the bottom of the pvc on the deck. it looks like his are supported entirely by the bow pulpit...) (my)this photos are old, and I cut the 4" pvc down since taken... I have a mesh bag that holds the rode and is tied on the bow. also look at johnS's ('oleander' (sp?) on photobucket...) bow sprit / anchor setup... very nice, but a lot of work... and the backing plate looks tricky to create...
