Motor specs.

Hello!I am intreseted in a MacGregor 19, and to save money I would like to use my "old" Johnson outboard engine. Could anybody tell me how long the outboard engine's shaft must be (from the upperst point of the bracket to the plate over the prop). That would be nice!Thank you!Simon(simon@StarWarsLive.de)

About 21"

Its about 21" with my '96 Mac19 with a 40HP Tohatsu.The "plate" is about about 2" below the bottom of the boat.(At high speed the bottom of the boat would be the water depth at that point.)Ron

You need a long shaft motor and they are usually 20 inches.Henry
