Motor Size?

I am looking at buying an outboard motor for my 16' sunbird. I want something that will do well in both lakes and in protected waterways on the coast. What HP would you recommend? Thanks

The honda 2 HP is a great little motor that pushed my 15' Potter around just fine It is also used to power the Potter 15' to Catalina.Duane "Novelman"

Motor Size

I'd try the 2.5 or 3.5 merc or tohatsu as the max size gas engine or you might think about an electic troling motor if you are just tring to get in and out of the harbor
