Motor Recommendation for 26M

I will become a proud owner of a new 26M within the next month.I need some advise on what brand 50hp motor to have installed.I see a lot of 26X's and 26M's with Honda's, but have also been told to keep away from Honda? Any suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I pland to do a fair amount of Sailing and Motoring.Thanks!

good choice

i like the Suzuki's as well.however, i don't like the weight vs. power ratio.so right now i'm bias towards the evinrude etec.i like the 75/90 powerhead that weighs 315#.it's 3 star rated while running smooth and quiet.one of Roger Macgregor's preferred dealers in SoCal is now suggesting the etec 90 as an option on a mac.

I originally was sticking to the Recom. 50 max, but I keep seeing more and more instances/recommendations for 70-90Hp. I know weight is a factor under sail, but many of the 70hp are close in overall weight to the 50's. Thoughts/comments?
