The last owner chopped out the mounts. He replaced the engine with
an outboard.

I am restoring "Kaboo" #395. I plan to put a Beta 13.5 in.

Does any one out there have the demensions for the mounts.

Thanks

Hello: I can send you a picture of the engine bearers. But I do not
think this will help. I would think that you be better to start with
the shaft. Put it in the shaft log and shim it true. This will be
your reference for the angle of the bearers. Find out the offsets
from the manufacturer of the engine mounts from the shaft. This will
be the height. The centreline will be the shaft. Measure form this
centreline for the width of the bearers I suppose you will build up
new bearers in wood and the glass them in place. Engines
manufacturers give all these meaurements. Most of them are even
written in their brochures. The original bearers had steel plates
glassed in place. The mounts were tapped into these.

If you are going to install a Beta you best contact Steve Birch. He
may have more pointers. I have ordered one and will be receiving it
soon. The interior of our boat is completely stripped out and makes
for a very simple installation. Good luck on your installation.Alan Critchlow
