I want to replace my motor mount with one that is real easy for the kids to lift up and down. I have seen some that have a shock absorber type of lift thing. I do allot of sailing with Aric my 13 year old son and if anything happend where he needed to lower the motor he could not do it with the one that came on the boat. Cliff

I just bought a reconditioned used motor mount of the type you describe from the yard where I store my H25. (Old one was totally shot, motor stayed in water all last season.) I haven't got the boat in yet so can't tell you how well it works. But, marina staff says they are great. Its made by OMC so I guess you can contact local Johnson/evinrude dealer for current price and availability. I understand that new units are quite expensive, something like $400. I was just lucky to find a used model.
