I am installing an adjustable motor mount on the h23. The mount is made by fulton performance as seen if you click on the related link. Being that the transom is pitched at an angle I need to install some wedges between the mounting bracket and the transom respectively to counteract the angle of the swept back transom...these were not provided with the mount. I was hoping that someone on the forum could help me come up with some material to use and/or a viable means to mount the bracket so it stands vertically. thanks for the input... side note: I found that the stock motor bracket began to rot from the inside out (wood core surrounded by glass)which left blisters in the gelcoat. If using the stock mount be sure to install a safety chain on the outboard. Brian Conneely kickin' back

Motor Mount on sloping transom

I have a similar mount that was the boat when I bought it. It is mounted flush to the transom without any wedges. The Honda 5HP has an adjustment that allow the motor to hang straight down.

reply to self

found a pre fab bracket system that compensates for 5 to 30 degrees of slope on the transom; its pretty robust and installation is straight forward...fyi
