motor for Bristol 24

What motors fit Bristol 24?

I do not yet have an outboard motor for this boat and would appreciate learning what motors others have found that fit in the well of the Bristol 24. I plan to get one with an electric start. Possibly new. Probably 8 hp. What length shaft is best?

I use an electric start, 15hp, long shaft Johnson with remote controls on my Bristol 24, JONAH'S CHARM... works like a dream.

I had a Nissan 8hp on my Bristol 24. It fit!

hi i use a 5hp 4 cylinder honda it works great but doesnt reach max hull speed by it self
