I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
On my Hunter 22 I have a lifting engine bracket. The wood piece that the motor mounts onto is getting to be in rough shape. I am wondering if anyone knows if the new mounts that Boat US and West Marine sells (the synthetic material) will fit on the current lifting bracket that I have.

Brackets are Different

You would have to post a picture of it and info about it (make, model#, etc.) I used to have a Catalina 25 which I replaced the pad. I made my own. I took two 3/4" square pieces of marine-grade plywood and glued them together face-to-face. I had a shop teacher at a local high school cut it out after I drew the shape on it that I needed. I used the old one as a template for the bolt holes, drilled them and put a finish on it. I was all set after that. Also was relatively inexpensive and I got what I wanted.

maybe

I had the same problem with Catalina 22. I ordered a synthetic through my marina for $45 and it fit but not without some struggle. I like the shop teacher idea. Just remember to measure twice and order once.

Same as Paul

I had a catalina 22 that had the same problem. I built a replacement just as Paul did, cut it out with a band saw, and gave it several coats of Marine Varnish. It looked the same as the original and as far as I know, is still on the boat.

Bracket Renovation

I had the same problem with my motor bracket. A little sandpaper and a couple of coats of CETOL and it sure made a great difference!;)

motor mount replacement

I had to make a replacement from 4 layers of half inch marine plywood. I epoxied and varnished the wood after i made the piece. Looks nice and pretty easy to make. If you cantfind a new one let me know I'll walk you throough it> Jim
