Motor Bracket

Hi All,

Jean and I bought 1986 O'Day272 with a new 9.9 Yamaha outboard. The motor works fine, but raising it out of the water is really difficult. In fact I can't do it and a 55 year old sailor who transports boats for a living couldn't do it either. Needless to say, that motor bracket will be replaced very soon. Yamaha weighs around 95 pounds. Panther makes a 55-4017 rated up to 15 hp and 132 pounds. Anyone have knowledge of Panther products and this set-up in particular?

FWIW I put a block on the motor mount and ran a line down to it and then back up thereby halving the amount of grunt needed. If that works in your situation it could save some money and trouble.
