I have a 1967 Morgan 34, hull #130. Originally it had a makeshift hydraulic steering system which I removed as (1) it was very poor in performance, and (2) the pump developed a leak. I am using a tiller at teh moment. I would like to replace it with a conventional cable system. There is insufficient clearance (maybe 3 inches) between the cockpit sole and the fuel tank to accomodate the pullys requiired to change the cable direction from vertical through the pedestal to horizontal motion to tjhe quadrant. Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this propblem? How does the cable system in your 34 handle this clearance problem? Any idea where to get parts for this conversion. Darryl Aubrey
