Does anyone know the specs for the main halyard on a 1968 Morgan 30? I can obtain a 1/2 rope by 7/32 wire halyard at a good price and want to know if it will fit. Thanks, jim
7/32 and 1/2 are a bit oversize for a 30 footer. Most 30's use 5/32 and 3/8. This halyard is probably off a 35-40 foot boat, so it should be much longer than you need (if it will fit through the sheave). If the halyard is new, why is it for sale? If it is used, what value does it have? (How many sailor's replace halyards before they have to?)
Thanks for your response. West Marine has one up on Ebay Brand new. It is less expensive than the 3/8 x 5/32 which is what is on my boat now. I am just not sure if it will fit the sheave at the top of the mast. Otherwise I don't see any disadvantage. Do You?Jim
