Consolidation continues in the American yacht building industry. Tripp Designs signs on to design a Catalina 48 now in production.
OOF! I hope they put some non-skid on that two ft wide ultra high gloss, black toe/cap rail and 10ft wide cabin top. Imagine leaning on or stepping on that surface in the hot equatorial sun. Why do you need so many tables on a boat deck? I guess they do keep you from being thrown across the cockpit. Is that Kika and Dan on the sugar swim platform? I dont see any innovation in the design. It looks like a carbon copy of a Beneteau. They could of at least made a unique window shape to not make it look like an uninspired copy of another boat. Its not an ugly boat, it just doesnt look like a boat from someone leading the pack, but someone following the pack. It will be interesting to see the final design/build and to see if they continue to produce a modern, but more mundane affordable 'sailboats'.Consolidation continues in the American yacht building industry.
