Whereas a regular marine head has a small footprint and a large overhang, the portable and composting heads all have a big footprint and the same relative size top to bottom.
I just pulled my head floor out of the stack of new woodwork and realize that I'll have to re-think the head situation. The floor shape is tapered to match the hull, and the narrower part is not wide enough for any of the portable or composting units.
Being eye deep in engine room plumbing and hardware at the moment, I'll have to delay noodling the head situation for a while, but it reinforces my decision to leave my options open and install the regular through hulls and seacocks in the head area.
.... and I thought I had it all figured out!
