I waited my 14 days and called the DEP to set up my appointment to get a HIN applied to my home made sailboat. The representative asked if I sent in my application? I said the registry sent it in after giving me a temporary registration (according to the rules at the registry this was the procedure). The DEP rep. said "it will take months before we get that, you should have sent it in yourself." He then took my information down to mail me copies of the forms so I can start all over again after wasting 3 weeks. Does anyone know of a Connecticut agency that handles beaurocracy complaints? I am about to call Massachusetts where I just found out the registry does not register boats, instead it is the Massachusetts division of law enforcement. Here I go again. Cheers Dave
