Thanks to all the great help I got on a previous thread I have a plan....and more questions. I am going to do my own rigging and use Suncor terminals (Links were very helpful and I like the ease of installation). What are the Hunter 33 stock wire diameters (stays and shrouds)? I could measure the wire on the boat but it is ORIGINAL and might be streached out. What's the best source for rigging components? Thanks again! Mike

Sources of rigging.

I buy a lot from Sailnet, good people and good service. Price may not always be the lowest. Then there are Pyacht and Defender to compare. Also check "Rigging Only", see Related Link. That is where I will buy my spare wire and STA-LOK terminals(remember no 9/32" from Suncor?). Someone will know your wire size, probably all 1/4". But you really should measure. On my '79 H37C the shrouds and mid-stay are 1/4". The backstay is 9/32". I have a solid rod furler so do not have a forestay.

My 33 ---

All the original rigging wire on my 1983 33 was 1/4". I increased the head stay to 9/32 with the new Harken furler. I made both of the twin back stays 1/4". I got my rigging from JSI, but they became Sail-Net or some such and no longer look interesting. I get rigging now from Rigging Only in Massachusets. 508-992-0434

Measue them

No way they have stretched enough to reduce their diameter anything like 1/16th! David Lady Lillie
