Having been attached to a number of different clubs over the years, I recently found a couple of old rosters. Memory Lane. We had two doctors, partners in a boat, One a patholgoist and the other a dermatologist. They christened their boat "SKIN AND BONES". Another was a psychologist who named his vessel 'FREUDIAN SLOOP". Pretty creative. Fair Winds and Fulls Sails...

Once knew a NY dentist who vacationed in Florida. Had a large 50 or so foot motor yacht he named 'Big Tooth', a 20 something foot Aquasport runabout he named 'Little Tooth', and a 6 foot dingy strapped on the yacht deck named 'baby tooth'. That was over 20 years ago and those names are still stuck in my brain :)

Cheers,
Brad

My boat's name is Guilty Pleasure. It is a nod towards my wife's Catholic guilt, something she experiences when a large indulgent expense looms on the horizon, (although I don't recall it appearing when she bought her new Mustang convertible...), my track record as a former cop (almost 100% guilty verdicts) and the Pleasure she brings to us. I want to name the dinghy something appropriate, but all that is coming to mind is Selfish Indulgenge. That won't do. Who is cleaver enough to dream up or quote something that will work. Thanks in advance.

I once saw a beautifully maintained wooden boat in the 35 foot range with the classic overhangs and the small transom. She was named Fare Well. My favorite name.

Couple of boat names come to mind over the years...

US Marine Lieutenant was promoted to Captain. His new boat name? Pay raise.

US Navy Doctor got himself an Irwin 46, called his boat Diastolies, after the term "Diastolic" which is when the heart is at rest.

Retired couple sent their kids to college but they dropped out, so the new boat name was Tuition.

How about "Guilt Free" or "Not Guilty" or "Guilty as Charged" or "A Little Guilty", Wait, as a former lawman, "Miranda Decision" Ad nauseum, Our dinghy is a Glasshopper and is made of clear plastic. Some one asked if we had taken the drawer out of our fridge so we named it Vegetable bin. Fair Winds and Full Sails...

Thanks to you all.

"Little Pleasure" as in life's little pleasures.
Thanks for all your suggestions. I think we'll go with my wife's idea (always best to go with She Who Must Be Obeyed...) of Little Guilty.

Mine is "Foolish Money" in honor of my mother's many lectures when I was younger.
The dinghy is "Amen" (Mom) or "Well Spent" (me).

Coming from my previous midlife toys, (C6 Z06, 427 AC Cobra and a RT/10 Viper) I needed a serious transition to 6.5 knots.

Hence the name "Andante", a musical term meaning Slow and Steady was perfect for me.
