Whichever boat you like the best

Not to be flip, but if they're in comparable condition they're all fine boats that will cruise you well. To recommend one over the other we'd need to know, , at the very least, more about the fine points of where and how you plan to sail her.

Your preference, and survey, survey, survey

I agree with Phil. Although we love our '77 h27, we would have bought a Catalina 30 if the draft had not been to much for our harbor. The 25's you list are all good boat designs. Go see each of them and then make up your own mind. The key issue with classic plastic boats is to get a good survey. (I'm assuming you are looking for a boat over 10 years old) I'd recommend asking boaters for the names of very good surveyors at the same time you are looking for a boat. Your are going to pay a surveyor the same price, so you might as well get the best. And a good survey provides high value: Deciding whether to buy the boat at all by finding major defects. Helping you to negotiate price versus condition. (This alone more than paid for our survey.) Giving you a maintenance list to start this process with intelligence. Probably required by your insurance company anyway. Good luck, David Lady Lillie
