I have been granted access to a mooring buoy on Wabamun Lake in Alberta. Problem is I am new to all of this and don't have the foggiest clue what I need for a pennent. I have read that the length should be anywhere from 1.5 times the height from water to deck, to the length of the boat. I am so confused!!
In addition, there is a single cleat in the center of the deck and guides at the sides of the boat. I was considering a double pennent that came up through the guides and hooked on the cleat, or replacing the guides with new cleats, or installing new cleats just behind the guides.
For pennent rope the rope shop nearby recommended the gold double braid nylon, 1/2", is this reasonable? If so can I make the double bridle set up just going to two ropes coming off the buoy or what is the best set-up.
HELP!!!
