Hunter 25.5 Chelsea NY
Hello everyone:
Re posting from ask all sailors forum

I purchased a brand new used 1984 Hunter 25.5. I need to get a mooring ball and pendants. The boat weighs 4500lbs.

I have looked a pendants online and there is a huge difference in price. I think I am looking for 3/4 inch rope as the cleat has 1" clearance.

Does anyone know of pendants I could get that don't cost hundreds of dollars each? I was hoping for less than $100 per. I need 2, for club rules as well as my peace of mind.

What is the best size and style mooring ball?

Thanx

Tom

Hunter 33.5 Portsmouth, RI
W.M. Has a New England Ropes Mooring Pendants. 3/4" x 15 Ft. with a 20,800 Lb breaking strength for $163, and a 5/8" x 15 Ft. with a 15,500 Lb. breaking strength for $130. Mine is a Yale "Max Yale" pendant from Defender Industries at $105 a few years ago.

On my Hunter 33.5 I have the 3/4" x 11 Ft. as the primary Mooring Pendant, and an older 7/8" by 14 Ft. as the backup pendant when there is a Blow expected, or I will be away for longer period of time.

The length should be a least 2-1/5 times the bow free board height.
