My Hunter was moldy and I ripped out the factory carpet and replaced it with white headliner a few years ago. Now that is getting nasty. Anyone have a good solution for inteirior redos?
Thanks for looking!

Wood batten strips that have been sealed work well. You would need to glass or epoxy strips to the hull to secure the battens. Then you can secure the battens to the strips with brads, screws, glue or however you choose. This will also allow a space between the hull and the covering so it can get some air circulation. I would also suggest putting some type of foam insulation in the space between the hull & battens.

You would want to be sure that the battens are sealed so they can be wiped down with some type of cleaner (citrus oil works very well).

In addition to a interior redo, I would also try using 4 or 5 Damp Rid buckets (available at WM and HDepot). We had all types of mold and mildew when we first brought the boat. But we started using the damp rid and it really help reduce the moisture in the boat which in turn, reduces the mold and mildew. I have seen no evidence of new mildew since. We have to empty the water out of them out about once a month. Its kind of surprising how much water they pull right out of the air. They also help the smell as well.

Besides, you can rip your cabin it out every few years. That may start to get expensive.
